A smart consumer should always have in mind, what type of casket they are looking for and how much they are willing to spend on one. But it's also important to know quality so that you're comparing properly. Since everone and every ethnicity has their own view on what a funeral should be, so usually determines their allowance for the casket. Unless you prearrange your funeral or at least talk about it with your family, that is who will be left up to making that decision for you!

What about a Casket Store?
A Casket Store is an unlicenced (meaning unlicenced Funeral Directors) establishment. It is also not recognized by the Board of Funeral Services as a funeral establishment. There are a few now in Ontario set up to sell the consumer a casket at what appears to you to be a lower price. What you should really be looking at is how much the salesperson knows about each casket in their store that you are interested in and the quality of the casket itself.
These are by and large reputable businesses, set up to save you money, but did you also know that almost all funeral homes will offer competetive pricing with a casket store, that is one of the more important points to remember! Also look at the rules involved in a funeral home receiving a casket from a Casket Store, every funeral home varies.
