Obituary of James "Jim" William Milner

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice at 81 years of age on November 18, 2018.

Cherished by his wife of 60 years, Carole, and lovingly remembered by his children -Jamie (Alicia), Dawne, Michael (Jerry), Mark (Kathy); grandchildren - Jeremy (Michelle), Scott (Sarah), Heather (Russell), Anna (Ivan), Glenn (Wei), Christopher, Lauren, Rachel, Jenna; and great grandchildren Wyatt and Leeah. Predeceased by his parents Violet and James (Sr.) Milner; Jim is survived by his sister Mariann (Tom) of Cambridge, brother Keith (Shirley) of Chatham, and sister Karen of Kitchener, as well as their families.

Jim will also be missed by his many Vietnamese friends and family including Tan and Tin, Larry and Thao, John and Nga, and their families.

Jim lived a full life filled with family, friends and faith. He spent 8 years in the RCAF. Then after moving family from Chatham, NB to Comox, BC, he settled down in Chatham, ON and worked with Bell Canada until his retirement. Throughout his life he was involved in the Catholic Church. He was honoured to be an active member of the St. Joseph’s parish community. 

Jim was immensely proud of his children and the lives they built, of his grandchildren and their accomplishments, and of his great grand children for the vigor and hope they brought to his life. 

He will be always missed and never forgotten.

Jim will be resting at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home 156 William St. S. in Chatham. Visitation on Tuesday, November 20th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 3 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 21 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church.

Reception at the Blessed Sacrament Hall to follow interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
