Obituary of Sister Helen Mary Normandeau

Normandeau, Sister Helen (Helen Mary) entered eternal life on September 18, 2019.  She was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1935 the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Loranger) Normandeau. 

She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham, Ontario in 1953.  During her religious life she served as a teacher in Windsor, Toronto and London.   She was also a parish worker in Drumheller and a spiritual Director in Montreal.  Sister Helen is an accomplished artist, whose paintings grace many homes and buildings throughout North America.

She is survived by siblings Laura Gagnier, Elizabeth (Betsy) Millard, Mary England and Louis Normandeau.

She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Hazel Normandeau and sisters Jean Bisnaire and Shirley Sinkevitch.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham.

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, Chatham.  

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
