Obituary of Blanche Evelyn Cowan

Peacefully at Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham, on Thursday November 7, 2019, Blanche Evelyn Cowan, age 95, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Thomas Cowan (1986).  Born in Chatham in 1924, daughter of the late Margaret (St.Peter) and Herman Purdy.  Blanche worked as an Executive Secretary at Enbridge and was a member of St. Ursula’s Church.

Loving mother of Barbara (John) Brady and Ruthann Haddock. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, 18  great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Predeceased by 3 sons-in-law Ron Haddock, Larry O’Rourke and Ken Deloff, sister Betty (Cliff) Rice, granddaughter Paula Haddock (2009), great grandson Chad Vanoverbeke and grandson-in-law Charles Vanoverbeke (2011).   

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from  2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 7 pm followed by C.W.L. prayers.

Please Note: There will be no visitation on Remembrance Day Monday. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 12 at 10 am in St. Ursula’s Church.  Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
